A rare double rainbow arching over Bay Pond Shaw lake — the ancient hammer pond and its lily pad surface reflecting the storm light in a moment rarely witnessed at the estate.
Bay Pond Shaw — Private Reservations

Private Enquiries

All estate access and fishing hire are arranged by direct enquiry. We respond to considered, specific requests only.

How This Works

We Do Not Operate an Online Booking System

Bay Pond Shaw does not operate a self-service booking platform. Access to the estate is managed manually, deliberately, and on the basis of each enquiry's specific circumstances.

This is intentional. The estate has a finite capacity — not a commercial one — and all access decisions are made with that capacity in mind. An automated booking system would not make this judgement well. A direct conversation does.

If you are contacting us to enquire about fishing or any other form of estate access, please include the following in your message:

  • Your preferred dates and session length
  • The nature of your request
  • Party size and composition
  • Any specific requirements or questions

We will respond within two working days. We respond most promptly to enquiries with specific dates — if you're at an early planning stage, an approximate preferred season is helpful.

After You Enquire

What Happens Next

Every enquiry is read personally. We do not use automated responses or booking platforms. If your enquiry is specific and considered, you will hear back within two working days.

We will ask a few questions to understand what you are looking for and whether the estate is the right fit for your requirements. If it is, we will confirm availability and discuss terms directly.

Bay Pond Shaw takes on a very small number of bookings at any one time. This is deliberate. The estate is managed for quality of experience and ecological preservation — not volume.

Community & Sector Access

Charitable Access Programme

We reserve a small number of sessions each year for charitable and not-for-profit organisations whose work aligns with the estate’s values. If your organisation operates in mental health and wellbeing, outdoor and nature therapy, angling outreach, veteran welfare, or environmental education, we would be glad to hear from you.

Access is offered by application only. We assess each enquiry individually and cannot guarantee availability, but where a genuine fit exists we will do our best to accommodate it. Day sessions only; groups of up to 15 participants.
